Many people have asked me before why I go by the name Dove and why my logo is thesilentdove.
Firstly, the reason I go by the name Dove is because to me a dove stands for many things. Peace, humanity, love, faith,hope, and other things. A dove is never used as a negative symbol, but always as a symbol for the oppressed. I love that, because its something I stand for so I thought what a perfect name. I feel that everything I want to stand for and everything I love doing can be found in the symbol of a dove. I find myself being more and more like a dove and connecting with a dove more. No i have not grown wings and turned cotton white, but my characteristics and passions are becoming more and more like that of the dove.
I didnt come up with the name”thesilendove” on my own, but i chose it for many reasons. I am not a very silent person so it might seem contradictory, but I chose this name because I feel there are many people in this world that are silenced from speaking out about being oppressed. I want to be that Dove that speaks for those that are silenced. In a sense it would have been easier to have named myself the “loud dove” or the “outspoken dove”, but I want to find a way to connect to all of these oppressed and silenced people. So I found that the name thesilentdove fit. I loved how it sounded. In a sense I was still retaining the qualities of the Dove and at the same time I was connecting to the people I was fighting for the “silenced” or “silent.”
